I may have been influenced alittle by your choices because some of them were just about impossible for me to choose between. But my choices were very similar, except I would choose pecan pie as my very favorite. I'm not even sure what hoppin john is! Black-eyed peas and rice??? That's a CAIN thing!

That was awesome. It came down to fried pickles or banana pudding. I'm still trying to decide which one wins!!

Love it! Mine came down to pimento cheese & boiled peanuts and I ended up with boiled peanuts. And I'm not sure what hoppin john is either? So I picked boudin even though I've only had it one time on a trip to Louisiana.

Hoppin John is a huge New Year's tradition for Chris' family. It's essentially field peas and rice. I would say it's a Bowman thing, but apparently, people all over the lowcountry eat it. Every January 1, we drive down to Bowman for collards, hoppin john, and liver puddin. I take a PBJ.

I can't believe pecan pie lost, and to something I have not even tasted!!? We'll have to coach pecan pie better for next years Southern Food Cup so it comes out on top.
