Ash Wednesday

Ash Wed probably has a number of fine traditions to it, but when you have children, a day off and the sun is shining on glistening snow, you simply do a rerun of Shrove Tuesday. This time with a camera!

BB dared to slide down with Pappa today, and after that wanted to go again and again!

It was just as fun with Mama!

LS may be too small for downhill sledding still...

...or then not! By the end of the day, she rode with us all the way from the top of the hill (voice recording forthcoming in the next post, hopefully).

All in all, we had a wonderful time. Proper sports/skiing holiday activity.

Fastlagstisdag - Mardi Gras

No beads or parades here. The traditional thing to do is to go sledding and then eat pea soup, pancakes and Fastlagsbullar. Pappa and BB went sledding, but BB did not like going downhill. Instead, he wanted to pulled uphill at a run. Then he rolled out of the pulkka and ran giggling downhill. Pappa got to ride the pulkka down and so we both had a good time.

The camera's battery was dead. It needs recharging all the time these days...

One step, two steps . . .

LS is now taking steps on her own! On Tuesday, she started taking two steps at a time, but then as soon as she realized what she was doing, she would sit down. This has continued the past couple of days, but now she actually knows what she is doing and thinks it's really fun! My baby girl . . .
This week and next, Pappa has a break from teaching. This week we have designated our work week, so hopefully next week we can play a little more. We are having to clean out closets where we just stuffed stuff in when we moved in here. Yuck.
I hope we have some readers left out there, I know we've neglected this blog lately. I want to keep writing, because it's the only way we have to remember things sometimes. But, it is so hard to find the time to do it, of course with the little ones being so time consuming.
Lots of people told us that once the second child got to be one, things would get a lot easier. I think they were right. Now LS no longer breastfeeds at night, and the nights have gone really well lately. Things aren't so intense. Of course, now that LS is starting to walk, she might be harder to look after. The children play beautifully together, and it's so nice to see. But, the sibling rivalry is another thing. Oh, the joys and pains of parenthood. Everything has two sides. I want time to speed up and slow down. I want them to get bigger and remain my babies. I would like to go back to work or something, but can't stand the thought of not being a stay-at-home mom. *sigh*

Christmas pictures

Long overdue. Here are some pics:

Stockings.

Yum!

OK, so I was hungry.

More of me! BB is not looking his best right now...

I got stuff all the way from Disneyland-land!

Boxing Day Trans-Atlantic present-opening.

So it's not the clan plaid, but it's plaid.

Pappa and LS at church.

BB feeling a bit better, it seems.

No, this shows the poor wee lad as he really was. (High fever.)

Merry... Christmas...

PS. Sorry about not having more pictures of all of us. We had some, but they did not turn out so well. Maybe Sanna or Hammo have better ones that we could post?
