Well, we have a class-free week at work this coming week, but that does not mean I have a free week. Firstly, with two small children there is always something to do at home. Secondly we're moving into our new home on Friday!
There is no end to things that need to be taken care of when you move. You have to notify everyone of your new address, change your home insurance (ackpth, insurance is evil!), power contract, internet, newspaper subscriptions. Luckily a lot of address information will automatically change once you update your information in the civil register.
This will be the seventh time I move in Åbo, but the first time to do so with children. It remains to be seen how BB reacts to the new place (LS will probably adapt very quickly).
The leaves are almost all gone now. It's getting dark and dreary. An excellent period to grow some hope as per the Paulian model: suffering fosters perseverance, perseverance character, character hope. I think Finns must be the most hopeful people in the world :-P
Also, it's election time! US presidentials? Oh, nononono... The municipal elections of course! And having lived in Finland long enough, Mama is allowed to exercise her democratic right for the first time here as well! Here's a post of her view of the last elections:
